About

Helping his clients capitalize on opportunities, Chris Hagen-Frederiksen provides judicious counsel in energy and natural resources, corporate and real estate transactions, regulatory compliance, and litigation. His seasoned practice focuses on energy title examination, review, and curative matters; property development rights, land use, and zoning; state and federal environmental and regulatory compliance, including contaminated site remediation, endangered species, and air and water quality issues; and litigation support for matters. Drawing from his experience as an appellate judicial clerk and his work in private practice and several Pennsylvania state agencies, Chris provides prudent counsel for clients in complex environmental and other regulatory and permitting matters, including contaminated site processes under state and federal law, multi-state liquor permitting matters, and enforcement and permitting actions before the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board and the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

Chris previously served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable John L. Musmanno in the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and the Honorable Julia K. Hearthway in the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. He also worked for several prominent Pittsburgh-based law firms; and completed internships with the Honorable D. Michael Fisher in the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. A member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, Chris published “Beyond Fracking: How Robinson Township Alters Pennsylvania Municipal Zoning Rights” in the Spring 2016 issue of the Journal of Law & Commerce (specific citation is 34 J. L. & Com. 375 (2016).
