Paul Atencio is a skilled strategist and creative problem solver with an exceptional grasp of the complexities and nuances inherent to the energy industry. Before co-founding Atencio Hall, PLLC, he was a shareholder in the Energy and Natural Resources Group and co-chair of the Land and Energy Title Department at a large regional law firm. Paul’s extensive industry knowledge and experience translate into his esteemed, comprehensive oil and gas legal practice.
In his specialty legal practice, Paul counsels oil and gas companies on a wide range of energy matters, including title, due diligence, title defect curative work, mineral and lease acquisitions, joint ventures, oil and gas leasing issues, and voluntary and forced pooling. He also partners with clients, guiding them in their defense of disputes regarding royalty and bonus payments, ownership of oil and gas, and surface use and damage claims. Paul has extensive experience beyond the energy sector, counseling clients from various industries on business, corporate law, real estate, and transactional and regulatory matters.
